Pictures Of The Other One

04.03.2009....This car I owned for about five years.  It was sold in September of 2008.  Although I have the space to work on the car now,  I did not have the funds to work on it and used to money for other things.

Engine Out(11.2.2003)

Today is the 25th of July 2001.  This car arrived on a car transport from Ohio just a few minutes ago.   These are pictures from the person I bought the car from.   This car will be made to be very similar to my other car......paint,  trim,  interior,  maybe even the motor.  hahahaha.  I will try to update the progress....Then again,  I may just be a slack ass.

08.04.2001   I have washed the car recently to make it more yellow.  Also degreased the engine,  cleaned the carb,  Replaced the thermostat and flushed the engine with fresh water.  Needs a new water pump.   Bought a new side view mirror and put that on today.   Been making a list of all the parts and crap I need to get for it.  This includes:  New door handles, new side marker trim,  new battery tray,  new side glass inside and outside "wiper" trim,  new front and rear bumpers and hardware.  New headlight bezels,  new trunk lid with spoiler,  new front spoiler.  New cowl hood.  That will cover the outside aspects to make it ready for paint to make it more identical to the existing car.   I will be buying the stuff mainly through auction sites--Like the side view mirror,  It was 26.00 at auction as a new reproduction piece....

08.05.2001    Just finished replacing the water pump and the alternator.  painted the front of the block black along with all the brackets and pulleys.  It looks much better now.  Need to go to Year One next weekend to get lower radiator hoses for both Camaros as well as the Battery Tray kit,  and the bezels for the parking lights.   Might have to get some other interior parts as well,  just depends on what money I want to spend.  I spent less than $100.00 on the stuff I did today,  which is pretty good I think.  The mere difference of how much better the motor looks is worth a hundred dollars.  Bwahahahahaha

08.12.2001   Well last week I went to Year One and I bought the following crapola.  The following parts I am waiting on as they did not have them in stock and they will ship them to me.  The padded pieces that go on the armrest/door handle portion of the door panels,   the rear bumperttes,  the supports for the front spoiler.  I did manage to get the parking light bezels--The rears I will return because they suck,  the lower arm rest plastic parts,  the screw kit to mount the new door panel armrest things.  The new ferrules for the door panels,  a new ferrule for the door lock thing that goes through the door panel,  a front spoiler,  and a few other pieces and parts.   I should be getting my new door handles in through UPS this upcoming week so that should be good.  What I realize I need to buy now.....I need to buy assembled door panels for both cars essentially as the ones that came with the new car are unassembled and I don't have the time/talent to assemble them.  They were cheap cheap reproduction pieces anyway.  I need to get new trim rings that hold the headlights in place as most of the tabs were broken off.   I have decided that both cars will have bumpers on them in the front.  The old Camaro never had a front bumper.   What I did today:  I disassembled both grille assemblies on both cars to see if I wanted a painted to body color on both or the black.   I opted for the black as I won't have to match paint to do that.  maybe later when I get the new one painted I can do body color.   I cleaned and scraped and repainted some of the engine compartment.  Removing some major over spray from the radiator support area as well  as installed the battery tray and cleaned up some of the wiring goopage.   The engine compartment will take some time to clean and repaint so I will end up doing that in sections.  It is looking much better.  On the old car I painted some too.  Just touch up stuff behind the grille.   That's enough for now. Tomorrow I plan to touch up the grille on both cars and finish reassembling them with what parts I have.  Also need to paint the brackets for the bumper---at least the brackets I have right now....

08.26.2001   Been scraping for the past few days.....Image above in the groups shows the ships of paint that came off real easy with a razor blade.   Metal so far is relatively straight and very little bondo/plastique.   The drivers side quarter ahs a small dent that was repaired with the goo.  The passenger side front quarter has no bondo in it at all.   The header panel in front of the hood will be replaced because it is wavy as hell.  I will knock out the front end then start on the doors.  Going from the front to the back.....It may just turn out to be a really nice car.  Nicer than the other one even.....

09.17.2001  Well the car is more gray now than yellow by far....This past weekend I cleaned, scraped and primed the passenger side door jamb as well as the trunk sill areas.   Also did the top half of the ass end of the car---The area where the taillights go.  Found enough bondo to make a body man smile with joy that he will be kept busy for at least the next few weeks.....I think the rear quarters will be replaced.  Just too much junk in there to repair it.   Inner rear fenders will also be replaced. Driver's side front quarter will be replaced as well as both inner fenders and the radiator core support.....When all is said and done the front end sheet metal will mostly be new with the exception of a few parts---the passenger side quarter panel and the fender extensions are okay.   There is just too much rust on the driver's side where the fender extensions meet.   At the point in time when I take the front end apart,  I may very well yank the motor out as well as the transmission and clean and paint all of that......Replace the bushings that need to go,  slip in a new motor and the four speed and reassemble the front end....If I do that...It won't be long before it goes away to the body shop to be painted.....It will be a lovely clone I think....Going to have to start taking more pictures of the work and start selling off parts that I don't want/need on EBAY I guess to finance some of this.  Mainly the seats and some of the other odds and ends that people can use that I don't want.   I will keep you posted with the new pictures in the next week...I promise.

10.19.2003  It has been quite a while since I last wrote about the car above....The other yellow car I have since put into storage.  It sits in a comfortable 10 X 20 box a few miles from here...The Car above that used to be yellow is in the garage right now,  and the scraping continues....I have decided that the entire car will be disassembled,  cleaned, painted and reassembled...The Titanic has more rust on it than this car does....But this car does have some significant rust.   Some of which is worthy of panel replacement...mainly the rockers below the doors....and the rear section below the tail lights.   I have not decided what color the car will be or which direction I will go with it....It will never be as nice as the other car,  but it will be a fun car...That is for sure.   I am leaning towards the Cortez Silver with black stripes.   It could still end up being a yellow car with black stripes though...Hahahahaha.  This car was green originally.  Then some shade of cosmic metallic blue,  then it was yellow.  I am removing all traces of the green with the front end removed now.....It will be black under the hood and under the cowl area and where the shell is in the front end.   I am scraping,  sanding,  and cleaning up the areas that are underneath the quarter panels.  The radiator core support must be replaced...I am bidding on one on EBay now....The car needs massive amounts of love and time,  both of which I shall give to it.   Will I get anything out of it?  Maybe.  The satisfaction of making a hoopty into a nice car....Yes.   A 9 out of 10 show car?  I seriously doubt it.   A 8 out of 10 show car from 20 feet away,  most definitely....It will be a small block car with a four speed.  The motor will be pulled before the end of the year I am sure....Then the subframe will be cleaned and painted...It is currently fifteen different colors due to varying degrees of rust and paint loss.  Ha.  I will try to take more pictures of the car as it progresses....I should have taken pictures of the car when it was all bare metal....I removed all previous body work to expose what really needs to be done as well as to see what was under all the bondo....Much of it was on there for no apparent reason.   Tons of it in some spots....I could kill whoever did that.   That's all for now...Back to my scraping.

11.2.2003---Today I removed the engine and transmission...It took about 30 minutes....maybe.  I had previously disconnected everything and removed the motor mount bolts the other day.  It came out fairly easily in one piece....It would have gone much faster if the engine hoist did not have screwed up wheels and I had more room to ease it straight out...But I did accomplish the task.  I will continue to scrape the red icky paint and flaky rust off of the frame of the car and other pieces and parts and prime them after sanding/wire brushing.   There is hope yet for this beast of a piece of shit.   It may come out ok.  I have not decided what engine will go in the car yet,  or what level of power it will have....I am considering roots type supercharger...Sticking out of the hood and all of that shit...I am undecided.  It would be pretty nifty to find a twin turbo type of setup though.  That could be hella cool.  It is 1:30 in the A.M. and I just sprayed a recently cleaned area....I guess that once I get the topside all clean and pretty with primer,  I will then spray it shiny black with canned spray paint.  Hahahaha.   I can use some canned spray paint like any fool on the planet.   It should look presentable....Much better under the hood than before...That is for sure.   I will have to decide if I am going to put the wheel wells back in.  If I am,  then I need to order some,  but that can come after I put the new engine in the car.....Hmmmm.  New engine....Yummy.

09.11.2005---It's been a while since I have updated this page about this car.  Time to do a little updating.  Not much has been happening with it.  It is currently in a sad sad state of disassembly.  Driver's side door is on the trunk lid.  One Fender is on the roof,  the other is spread across thefront subframe.  Subframe and firewall have been painted glossy black and then covered with protective newspaper.  The interior has been gutted.  Brakes are inoperable at the moment.  There is some air in the tires.

The following pictures should explain a great deal about it's current state.

Here are some pictures taken on 06.10.2007 with the car in its new home.  Other yellow car is next to it,  just to annoy the disassembled sibling.
